| Transform-Your-PC into an Ubuntu system |

Ubuntu is currently the world's most popular and widely downloaded distribution of Linux. Quite impressive considering the Ubuntu project was started in 2004. Ubuntu was founded by South Africa's Mark Richard Shuttleworth, best know for the digital certificate company, thawte, which he founded in 1995. From the onset, Ubuntu's goal has been to make Linux easy to use and free to own.
Ubuntu is based on Debian Linux -- one of the oldest and most stable versions of Linux. From a technical perspective, Debian has everything. What keeps it from gaining mass appeal is its lack of easy implementation and configuration. Most techies have and use Debian. They love hacking and tweeking it to their liking. As a testament to Ubuntu's appeal, Europe's industries, government agencies and educational institutions are flocking to Ubuntu and realizing huge savings in software licensing and maintenance costs.
